The couple lived in Drayton, where they were neighbours of the James McKAGUE/Emily GILES family.215 "Card of Thanks--Editor Advocate "On behalf of the sisters of the late Mrs. Proctor and myself I take this opportunity of sincerely thanking the citizens of Drayton for their sympathy and respect also their attendance at the funeral and closing their places of business while her funeral was passing. "Yours Truly "Alex Fraser"771 "Another card of thanks the top is cut off all I can read is 'for their kindness during the illness and death of our mother. It was a source of much comfort to us then, but is much greater now and will not soon be forgotten. "Yours Very truly "Mrs. L. Adams "Jennie Proctor'771"215 Drayton Advocate, May 12, 1898, p. 2: "Mrs. Proctor, mother of Mrs. Lucius Adams of this village, after a short but severe illness died last Thursday. She was first taken down with a slight attack of heart trouble, which later turned to congestion of the brain and notwithstanding the fact that everything that medical skill could suggest was done for her, she gradually grew worse and weaker until the end came which brought great relief. The funeral on Saturday morning was very largely attended, the remains being interred in Victoria Cemetery Drayton. "Her obituary will appear next week."772 [There are no surviving copies of the next week's paper.215] | ||||||||||||
