Minnie was the first white child born in the Wycollar District and on the original homestead. At the 50th anniversary celebrations of the province of Saskatchewan (1905-1955), held in Marsden on the 1st of July, they put up a cairn to commemorate the event, and Minnie was one of two who did the unveiling, because she was the first child born in the district.205
