George and his family lived with his brother Robert James McKague and his family in a log house at Cherry Hill.110,30In 1875 the brothers bought a farm together (south half, Lot 27, Concession 9, Cramahe Twp) from a Mr. Brintnell.6 George sold his share of the farm to Robert in 1879. He and his family then moved to Winnipeg MB. They travelled by railway, and then Red River cart. George got into real estate speculation in Winnipeg.30 He was living in Winnipeg in 1906.97 The boys got diphtheria, and their parents wired Dr. William H. McKague, George's brother, to come to Winnipeg. He arrived after the boys' deaths.30 Later, the family moved to Vancouver, BC.6 George speculated in real estate and lost.30
