Metta was living in Hamilton Twp at her marriage to Robert.126 She lived on a farm near Morganston ON for 3 years, and later moved to Cobourg ON.30 She moved to Winnipeg MB about 190930 (or possibly by 1906)97 after her husband's death. She lived in Winnipeg till her death.6 Caption on newspaper photo: "MRS. ELIZABETH McLOUGHLIN, who resides with her daughter, Miss Beatrice McLoughlin, at 362 Nore Dame avenue, is today celebrating her ninety-third birthday. Mrs. McLoughlin came to Winnipeg from Cobourg, Ont., nearly thirty years ago, accompanied by her two daughters. She is the oldest living member of the First Baptist church and attends regularly when the weather is not too cold. Mrs. McLoughlin is in excellent health and can read without glasses. A married daughter, Mrs. John Gammons, lives at Cresco, Iowa. Mr. McLoughlin died in Cobourg in 1902. The photograph shows Mrs. McLoughlin sitting in her favorite corner and was taken this week by the Free Press photographer."125

BIRTH: There is considerable dispute about her birthdate and place. Two sources give her parentage and show her as born in 1845 in Adelaide Twp, Middlesex Co.,2,6 but it is hard to imagine why she would have been born in Middlesex County--perhaps while the family were visiting relatives there? Two give her parentage and show her birthdate as 1843 with no place given.42,10 She is said to be celebrating her 93rd birthday in 1938.125 One shows her parentage, gives her place of birth as Mariposa Twp, and gives her age at marriage as 27.126 MARRIAGE: Her marriage to Robert is confirmed with no birthdate or place given.2,6,30 DEATH: Her death date is also shown as ca 1943.6,30
