Notes for Margaret Alice LUDGATE
"Obituary "MARGARET ALICE McKAGUE "Baltimore and Cobourg district is mourning the loss of one of its fine old residents, Mrs. John McKague who passed away at the home of her son in Ottawa on Monday, Oct. 7. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Ludgate who were pioneers in the Baltimore district. "Margaret Alice Ludgate was married to the late John McKague at Baltimore in the year 1895. She lived there and later in Cobourg until last year when she went to Ottawa to reside with her son, Roy Alexander McKague at 43 Clarendon Avenue. She had been in fairly good health up to the last and maintained her interest in the church work as she had done all through her life. In this interest she had identified herself at various times with the work of both the United Church and Presbyterian Churches and she had been made a life member of the W.M.S. of the latter denomination. Her natural kindly interest in humanity found an outlet in a habit of paying frequent visits to cheer the sick and whether an acguaintance [sic] or not she lent her interest wherever it might be needed. "Surviving is one son Roy of Ottawa and two grandchildren Jean and Jack of Ottawa. "Rev. E.W.B. MacKay conducted the funeral service from McFadyen's Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 9 afternoon at 2:30. "The pallbearers were Lorne Darling, Clarence McKague, Frank and Will Blezzard, Eric McKague and Thomas Hoskin. "Interment was in the United Cemetery at Baltimore."112
