| William immigrated to Ontario about 1820, and settled south of Peterborough ON in what is now Ida, Cavan Township.40 "William McIndoo, his wife Nancy Wallace and their family came to Canada from Ireland in 1820. Nancy became ill on the lake boat coming from the east and is said to be buried in Cobourg, Ontario. William settled on Lot 17, Concession 12, on which he received the Crown Grant in 1831."199 | ||||||||||||
