John lived in Trenton ON.105 From Hans Waltimeyer by Jane Bennett Goddard: "Squire John Bleecker's son, John, has married the daughter of a fellow Loyalist, Elizabeth Ritchie. Their marriage has been solemnized at Ernestown, but upon their return up the Bay to Port Trent, they have had the darkness of night come upon them and have been compelled to spend the night encamped upon Captain John's Island. This is the island originally ceded to Captain John Deseronyou, the leader of the Thayendinagea Mohawks. They have reached their new home in safety the next day."127 Obituary of John Bleecker, Belleville Intelligencer, Dec. 4, 1874: "DEATH OF A PIONEER "The death of Mr. John Bleecker of Trenton is announced as having occurred on the afternoon of the 25th instant.
