Lulu and her first husband N.D. Richards were evidently great rivals. She was an ardent Liberal and he an equally passionate Conservative. Apparently they would often both speak out violently at the same meetings with great gusto, to the delight of all the observers.15 Lulu was living in Picton, Ontario at the time of her death.27
