"OBITUARY
"LATE MARTHA HOSKIN
"There passed away on Saturday evening, Dec. 16, after three week's illness, at the home of her son-in-law, W.J. Ash of Cold Springs, Martha Hoskin, widow of the late Thomas Hoskin in her 84th year. Her husband predeceased her 12 years ago. Deceased was born in Hamilton Township at 'Cherry Hill,' and lived all her life within a few miles of her birthplace.
"The largely attended funeral was conducted on Monday afternoon by Rev. T.M. Wesley, of Camborne with interment at Cobourg Union cemetery.
"The late Mrs. Hoskin was a staunch member of Grafton United Church and until late years was a devoted and active member of the Woman's Association, W.M.S. and the Women's Institute, and who by her high ideals, and cheerful disposition had endeared herself to a large circle of friends who mourn her passing.
"Left to mourn a great loss are, her one sister, Mrs. Marcus Massey, of Morganston; three sons, Bertram and Albert of Haldimand Township and Thomas of Cobourg; three daughters, Mrs W.J. Ash, Cold Springs, Mrs. B.J. Johnston, Haldimand Township and Mrs. C.M. Andrus, Peterboro. Also twenty-seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
"The pallbearers were the deceased's six grandsons, Douglas Hoskin, Clarence Ash, Lyle Hoskin, Thomas Johnston, Allen Hoskin and Harold Johnston.
"The many beautiful floral tributes bore witness of the esteem in which the deceased was held.
"Relatives attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. B. Gray and Mrs. C.M. Andrus, Peterboro; Mr. and Mrs. J.B. McKague, Castleton; Mr. and Mrs. C. Massey, Mrs. Marcus Massey and Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Darling, all of Morganston; Mr. and Mrs. K. Marriott, Toronto and Mrs. Jno. McKague, Centreville."8
