According to Tom McKAGUE, after Floyd's death, Bonnabell didn't feel she could support three children, and was going to put Evelyn and Avon into an orphanage. Joe McKAGUE (Floyd's father) came to Spokane and took Evelyn and Avon to live with him on the farm in Walnut Grove.444 Brian McKAGUE says Joe took Avon when Floyd died, and came back for Evelyn when he learned Bonnabell was putting her up for adoption.385 |
