| Francoise's marriage appears to have been contentious. According to a note on the marriage certificate, when the banns were published at Pointe-aux-Trembles, there was an objection because of a claimed promise of marriage between Francoise and Simon ALLARD. The parties appeared before M. DOLIER, grand vicar of the diocese of Québec. He gave judgment in favour of Toussaint BEAUDRY, and with his permission the marriage took place in the church in Montréal Parish. 109 |
